These are yarns produced in the form of flat or metalloplastic ribbons, obtained by rolling and which are found in particular in the manufacture of fabrics intended for ceremonial or festive clothing to obtain a shiny metallic appearance. These flat tapes are made of aluminum combined with a plastic sheath (usually polyester). The polyester film protects the material and improves the mechanical properties while facilitating its coloring. Thanks to its shimmering appearance, this material is found in trimmings, in embroidery, generally in combination with other materials.
