Raw but economical material

Jute fiber is obtained from the bark of the jute plant. It is produced almost exclusively in India and Bangladesh. This short, fairly coarse fiber is used in the manufacture of agricultural bags, in geotextiles for its biodegradable properties, and in upholstery and furnishings (canvas, webbing, etc.), wherever its naturalness and low cost are an advantage.

An eco-responsible spirit

Totally biodegradable and recyclable, jute fiber is environmentally friendly. One hectare of jute consumes around 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide and releases 11 tonnes of oxygen. Crop rotation also improves soil fertility for the next crop. What's more, jute does not produce toxic gases when burned.
Jute also plays an important socio-economic role worldwide. it's the most important textile fiber on Earth after cotton, and its cultivation provides jobs for millions of people.
