Artificial FiberBio-based

Biobased artificial fiber

PolyLactic Acid is a biodegradable polymer in industrial composting (i.e. above 60°C). It is obtained from corn starch. WE extract this starch which is converted into sugar, then decomposed thanks to micro-organisms into lactic acid, itself polymerized into polylactic. This polymer is finally extruded to give birth to this fiber that can be described as bioplastic.

A clean fiber

It is an example of artificial fiber made in a "clean" way because throughout the production chain, PLA fiber is environmentally friendly. It limits CO2 emissions, it is bio-sourced AND bio-compostable, which is exceptional (a bioplastic is often one or the other, but very rarely both at the same time). It is a sustainable material because it comes from 100% renewable natural components.

Aspect

Since this fiber is extruded, it has a high sheen, making it a very shiny and transparent material.
